Sr. Rose

Campus Minister

Sister Rose is a native New Yorker but is no stranger to Wilmington. The Sisters of St. Ursula have served in St Mary Parish in downtown Wilmington since 1984. Sr. Rose served as the Director of St. Mary Office of Social Ministry from 1991 to 1998. During that time she served on several Ecumenical and Civic Boards and Task Forces including the Good Shepherd, Mother Hubbard's Cupboard, St. Mary Housing Corporation, Tileston Clinic, The North Side Clinic, the City of Wilmington, New Hanover County Health Dept, UNCW School of Nursing, United Way and FEMA.

Sister Rose is a licensed Mathematics teacher and most recently completed a Master of Divinity at the Weston Jesuit School of Theology in Cambridge, Ma. She enjoys travel, reading, music, and body surfing. Rumor has it that she participated in the Newport Polar Bear Plung while living in New England.

Sr. Rose hopes that the Catholic Student Center continues to grow as a comfortable welcoming place for students to meet, relax, pray, converse and reflect on how they can best integrate their faith with their professional and academic formation. Our inward journey necessarily expresses itself in outward action. Our challenge is to consider how we are known on campus? How do we express love of God and love of neighbor here at UNCW? How do we make a return for all the God has given us?
